U-TURN

Hey Everyone

Well, after much deliberation and concern over mountains, desert, wind in our faces, and autumn temps, york and i decided to change this from a ride across the country to a ride around the country. Its a big decision to make so casually, but if you know us, you know thats our style.

We spent a week in Chicago. We watched a Cubs game at wrigley with Nick, saw the sights with Patrick, Nana and David, and ate wonderful thai food with queen of hostesses, Eleanor. (Say 10 times fast "Eleanor from Illinois") Somewhere in there we drove a rental car to Ames, Iowa to visit good friend and bicycle enthusiast Matt, who treated us to midwestern football-crazed college life, and explained the importance of corn. We were unable to make it to Nebraska. Sorry Nebraskan friends.

Today we are leaving. We decided rather than seeing the mountains and the desert, we would much rather see the historical east coast of our country. We are just about at the half way point of the trip, and another 1,300 miles will take us to Philadelphia, NYC, Boston, and finally once again, Camden, Maine. Its about 700 miles to Philly. Two weeks. Wind at our backs.
It should be a wonderful ride.
